Frequently asked questions.
Where exactly is Salvador Valley located?
We’re building Salvador Valley in the hills of Hacienda San Alfonso, El Salvador. It’s about a 25-minute walk or quick bike ride from El Tunco, which is the buzzing surf town everyone talks about. We’re close enough to enjoy the beaches, bars, and good food, but far enough to wake up to mountain air.
When is the hostel opening?
Right now, we’re still laying the groundwork – literally. The goal is to be ready sometime next year, but we’ll keep sharing updates as we go. Follow along on Instagram or YouTube to see how the build’s going.
Can I book a stay yet?
Not just yet. We’re still building the place by hand, so it’s not ready for guests. But if you support the project through our crowdfunding, you can lock in future perks like discounted stays or early access once we’re up and running.
How can I help or get involved?
The easiest way is to support us through our crowdfunding campaign. It helps cover building costs, tools, and keeps the project moving. Plus, we’ve got fun rewards like your name on the wall, free nights down the line, or exclusive invites.
What’s the vibe of Salvador Valley?
It’s not your typical hostel. We’re blending glamping, a community space, a little Irish pub energy, and nature-first living - all designed to bring people together. It’s about connection, movement, creativity, and having a good time in a peaceful spot.
What can I do in the area?
So much. El Tunco is just down the hill with surf beaches, bars, cafes, and live music. You’ve also got El Sunzal for world-class surfing, waterfalls to explore, pupusa stands everywhere, and beautiful sunsets in the hills. Once we’re open, we’ll help point you to the hidden gems.
Are you looking for volunteers?
We’ve had volunteers help out in the past and we’ll be opening that up again soon. It’s not a short-term thing though - we ask volunteers to stay at least three weeks and we only bring people on during certain times of the year when it makes sense for the build. If you’re keen, send us a message and we’ll let you know the details.
